The architectural style that developed in this part is known as the Chalukya style. The temples were built by teams of architects, artists, sculptors and masons, who remain anonymous. The presence of two 12th-century stone inscriptions in Unkal village show that the temple belongs to 11th or 12th century

Hubli Old bus stand is the nearest Bus Terminus, from there unkal is 5km distance and many buses run in between Hubli and Dharwad have stop at unkal. From unkal bust stop should take a 1km walk or can also find sainagar bus from bus stand which passes very near by to temple.
